A year after Sergei Grinkov's death Ekaterina Gordeeva came back to the ice. We already informed you that she appeared as a single skater at an Exhibition of the Gold Championships. And now some details about her coming back.

- Time goes by so fast, - says Katia. -But I don't know when I'll be able to put it behind me. But I'm very happy to skate with great skaters.

Gordeeva talks about the show Discover Stars that started a week ago on one of the Lake Placid's rinks. Some of the Olympic champions as Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton and also Paul Wylie, Kurt Browning and others appeared at the show. Ekaterina had a number together with Wylie and also her solo programs with music of "Elegie" by Rachmaninov and "No one is alone" by Stephen Sondheim.. "Eligie" was choreographed by Marina Zueva who worked for many years with the pair of Gordeeva and Grinkov.

Without Serezha Katia feels somewhat uncomfortable on the ice. But on the other hand...
- I have to tell a lot to my fans. Especially on the ice. With my skating, - she is certain.

- It is very good that Katia is skating. I think she enjoys it. But she still has a lot of sorrow in her soul...

Ekaterina Gordeeva thinks:
- I couldn't not to skate in this show ("Discover Stars" - rehearsal before the American tour, that starts December 28 and will appear in 60 cities - D.S.). I had to return to Lake Placid. Here are my friends . My husband died here...

When Grinkov didn't lift her on November 20 at the training rink, Katia thought that something bad happened with his back. Then he fell on the ice... All the efforts to save his life were unsuccessful...

In her book "My Sergei" Gordeeva talks about the "scene" at the hospital. About how she talked to her dead husband. It seemed as if he was sleeping, his face was so undisturbed. He still had his skates on...

Two-time Olympic champions were an ideal couple: strong and courageous Sergei completed artistic and charming Katia. Figure skating had not have such a combination for a long time.
